THE 17 GOALS

Using user experience research techniques and methods, we looked to create a digital product which would help target one of “The 17 Goals” made in part by the United Nations. Our targeted goal was climate action which aims to “take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”.
The carbon output of meat over consumption has a significant effect on the environment and our ability to maintain food supply sustainability.

Capitalizing on the influence of social media apps, we aim to position our design to promote the reduction of meat consumption while encouraging the adoption of sustainable eating habits.

APP FEATURES

The app centres around the concept of "flexitarianism" which is a spin off of vegetarian which in this app's context refers to the more conscious consumption of meats and processed food. The app centres around content creators who make recommendations and reviews about carbon conscious flexitarian foods.

With a thorough onboarding system which takes in the users preferences and dietary restrictions while educating them on the impact of their decision. The user is able to apply to become a creator during their onboarding and all content produced will be verified by a moderator. Once they're in the app they will also be able to connect to a number of different recipes and food recommendations from creators.

All restaurant recommendations have a "eco/eats" rating which indicated how sustainable the restaurant is which will be based on a sustainability team trained to evaluate the restaurants.
